ITINERARY:
DAY 01 IQUITOS / TAMBO AMAZONICO LODGE
Our personnel will meet and greet you at the airport. Transfer to Iquitos.
Along the way you will briefly sightsee Iquitos, looking at the most important tourist sites of this representative Peru's orient city founded in the XIX Century.
Transfer by land to the City of Nauta on the shores of the Maranon River where you will board the boat that will take you to the Tambo Amazonico Lodge. On the way you will be impressed at the sight of the Amazon River formation in the confluence of the Maranon with the Ucayali. Boxed lunch on route.
Arrival in our Tambo Amazonico Lodge located on the Yarapa River (100 miles from Iquitos), one of the first tributaries of the Amazon River, in the so called "buffer zone" or the "gateway" to the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve.
As soon as you are installed you will take a hike or canoe ride to explore the beauty of the place. The Tambo Amazonico Lodge is surrounded by exuberant vegetation and beautiful dark water oxbow lakes.

DAY 02 TAMBO AMAZONICO
Early morning birdwatching on the Amazon (Yarapa River mouth). Here it may also be possible to see the amazing pink dolphins.
Breakfast at the lodge.
Primary jungle trekking to observe the diversity of trees that exists around the lodge, amongst timber, medicinal and fruit producing species which are used for the local people. Unique opportunity to spot fauna species that inhabit the area (monkeys, birds, reptiles); also a diversity of insects and plants.
Lunch at the lodge.
Dug-out canoe ride to the Moringo oxbow lake to see the spectacular water lilac "Victoria Regia". It will also be possible to see interesting flora and fauna species found on the shores, such as the "hoatzin" or as it is locally known, "shansho", a bird with prehistoric resemblance that feeds on tree leaves that grow around the lakes.
Thrilling evening excursion to spot caimans.

DAY 03 TAMBO AMAZONICO
Breakfast at the lodge.
Eco- Cultural visit to the Jaldar community where you will see their handicrafts using materials found in nature. Visit to the local Shaman who will demonstrate the rituals and use of plants in natural medicine.
Lunch at the lodge.
Canoe ride to the Uvos oxbow lake where you will have the opportunity to catch the feared piranha fish.
Supper. Overnight.

DAY 04 TAMBO AMAZONICO LODGE
Breakfast at the lodge.
Navigate on the Amazon and Maranon to reach the city of Nauta. Return to Iquitos by land.
At a convenient time, transfer to your hotel or airport.

Binoculars,
Camera and films (ASA 200 and 400 for the inner forest)
Hiking boots, sneakers and shoes for the shower
Warm clothing, long sleeve shirts and long pants (cotton) wide brim hat and sun glasses for sunny days
100% waterproof rain gear (long poncho or rain wear)
Insect repellent (at least 50% Deet),
Sunscreen lotion
One pair of lightweight ankle height boots and sandals

- It is necessary to use boots the whole time in the walks.
- It is essential to take a lot of quantity of liquids during their demurrage in the forest.
- To maintain a Sep of dry clothes in the housing.
- Eminently tropical, warm, humid and rainy climate, with a temperature averages yearly of the order of the 28ºC.
- Months of rain from December to March.
