THE BEST OF ICA - NAZCA - PARACAS
ITINERARY: DAY 1: LIMA - ICA - NAZCA Early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Lima bus station for a four-hour drive through the Panamericana highway to Ica, wine capital of Peru. Reception in Ica and assitance. City tour of Ica including modern and traditional districts, the Sanctuary of Luren, the Regional Museum of Archaeology to know a little more about the Nazca and Paracas pre-inca cultures. Then drive towards the Huacachina Lagoon, to explore its natural beauty and to taste some of the most delicious wines and piscos of this region. In the afternoon transfer to Ica bus station to pick up the bus towards Nazca town. Reception at Nazca bus station and transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight in Nazca.
DAY 2: NAZCA - PISCO Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to the local airport to board a propeller plane to fly over the enigmatic Nazca lines. The Pampas of San José, between km 419 and 465 of the South Panamerican Highway, are the site of the famous Nazca Lines, comprised of over 70 giant figures and some 10,000 lines imprinted on the land, which have been declared the Cultural Heritage of Markind by UNESCO. After flying over the Nazca geoglyphs, tour to Chauchilla cemetery. After lunch drive towards Pisco. Reception at Pisco bus station and transfer to your selected hotel
DAY 3: NATIONAL RESERVE OF PARACAS - BALLESTAS ISLANDS - LIMA Early in the morning motor boat excursion to Ballestas Islands, in Paracas National Reserve, to observe Sea lions, Boobies, Pelicans, Penguins and other Marine birds, among the many other species which converge there looking for shelter. On the boat trip over to the Islands, the famous "Candelabro" can be seen, an enigmatic drawing that many people believe is related to the Nazca lines, while others think it is a representation of the Southern Cross Constellation, or a stylized drawing of a cactus that was used by high Inca and pre-Inca priests as an hallucinogen. After taking pictures of the Sea lions, Seals and Seabird rookeries we return to Pisco. Time at your disposal. A proper time transfer to the bus station and return to Lima.
